✨ Coastal Karnataka Chronicles – A Two-Phase Travel Web Series ✨

🎬 Phase – 1: "The Three Boys & The Butter Fish Revelation"

Every December, the whole world prepares for Christmas… But three boys from Mysuru prepared for something more sacred — SEA FOOD.

Because honestly, we Mysuru people hardly see the sea, forget sea food. So this trip was basically a religious pilgrimage to Prawn Mandir and Fish Devastana.

We reached Mangaluru by noon and checked into Hotel Moti Mahal with only two goals:

  1. Sleep properly
  2. Eat properly

(Visiting places was a side quest.)

🌙 Mangaluru Night: Temples, Ice Cream & Mysterious Energies

Our first stop was Kudroli Temple — nice, peaceful, divine. But then came Koragajja Temple.

Lights? NONE. Sound? NONE.

While walking inside we could hear our own heartbeat louder than the temple bells. But surprisingly, I didn't feel scared… I actually felt some "energy."

My friends also felt something — the energy of Pabba's Ice Cream calling them.

They dragged me out before any divine power could hire me as their next medium.

🌅 The Calm Before the Feast

Next morning, we found the jackpot: Kadri Manjunatha Temple, the most peaceful place in the middle of a noisy city. Perfect for Shambhavi Mahamudra.

We climbed a small hill behind the temple. Silence level = 100. Better than any meditation app subscription.

Also, I must say — coastal Kannada is peak Kannada. If grammar had a god, coastal people would be his brand ambassadors.

🐟 The Fish Market Expedition

This was my personal dream destination — the FISH MARKET. We entered at 10 AM and the smell welcomed us like a long-lost relative.

Boats unloading fish… Men shouting prices… Ice factories packing fish like treasure…

We realised one important truth: Bengaluru/Mysuru fish = yesterday's news. Mangaluru fish = today's breaking news.

🍽️ The Legendary GiriManja Feast

We planned like military generals. Reach by 12 PM. Avoid the 1 PM tsunami crowd. Save waiter from stress. Eat everything peacefully.

The food parade began:

  • Butter Fish
  • Anjal
  • Prawns Ghee Roast
  • Bangude
  • Neer Dosa
  • Silver Fish
  • Golden Fry

And then… THE BUTTER FISH HAPPENED.

One bite. Eyes widened. Soul left the body and came back.

Our rating:

⭐ Butter Fish – THE BOSS ⭐ Anjal – Assistant Manager ⭐ Prawns – HR (keeps everyone happy)

After eating, we all looked at each other and said, "Shiva Trupthanada." Even gods would've burped that day.

🏖️ Beaches, Showers & Surprises

Suratkal Beach at 2 PM was literally the sun's frying pan. So we escaped in 30 minutes.

But then… Blue Flag Beach.

Clean. Beautiful. Swings. Kayaking. Fresh water + sea water combo. It was like Goa but without the foreign tourists tanning themselves.

We played like 5-year-olds, rolled in sand, and took proper showers like civilised humans.

🎭 Kateel Temple & The Unexpected Yakshagana

We casually went to Kateel Temple but boom — LIVE YAKSHAGANA!

The artists were dressed better than people in weddings. Their makeup could survive a cyclone. Passion level: 200%.

We forgot the temple and sat watching Yakshagana like kids watching Chhota Bheem.

🔚 Phase-1 Cliffhanger Ending

The boys didn't know… The real adventure was waiting — A cave temple with flowing water, snakes, fishes and a priest who would soon become their Airbnb host.

Stay tuned…
